I asked Dave over at Electrum what LEDs they used and he kindly got back to me with the exact part number. The LEDs on the control box were getting dim from tinkering with them so we went ahead and had them all replaced. This hilt came in as a commission and we wanted to install it with Proffie. control card touch button and LED functionality SDS Pixel Emitter (P圎) connector prototype #lightsaber #lightsaberbuild #customlightsaber #diylightsaber #electrumsabercrafts #starwars #starwarslightsaber #jedi #sith #proffie #neopixel #sabersmith #lightsaberchassis #3dprinting #commissionsopenĪnother! Fast follow up with another Electrum Remnant installed with a Proffie in a removable chassis setup. It's always a pleasure to handle an Electrum hilt and this was no exception with its beautiful weathering. Gonna play around with this more for future projects. I also started exploring some knurling work to mimic the grenade grip as well as the Graflex band type engraving along the control box. But it's well worth it for easier board accessibility once it's all set in the chassis. It is a little more work, limits the available space I have for wire channeling, and requires an orientation flag to be added to the config. The Neopixel connector is connected with the use of a 4 rail chassis connector allowing me to pass the 3 Neopixel signals as well as blade detection.įor the chassis I implemented my newer angled Proffieboard design for easier USB and SD card access. This also allows me to create a chassis guide to ensure the contacts are lined up perfectly. Like all the other conversions this uses the same interfacing methods of 3 and 4 contact spring connectors to connect with the control card LEDs and touch buttons. This would be the 3rd Aurora I've converted and since I've moved over to designing in Fusion, I whipped this one up from scratch (again). Illuminated Stardust Sabers Pixel Emitter connector (prototype) Here's another Electrum Sabercrafts Aurora converted over to Proffie with a removable chassis setup.
